The competitors analysis can be discussed with the help of Michael Porters five competition forces in the market. Rivalry: The Apple Company has focused on great job by offering technical support and creating customer loyalty with the production of Apple products. It also develops customer loyalty with the products purchase. It maintains the level of productivity with respect to superior products and it gains market share with low prices. Suppliers bargaining power: The suppliers bargaining power can decrease the profits of Apple by developing high prices for suppliers. The company focuses on new suppliers to decrease the bargaining power of suppliers and Apple can decrease the bargaining power through more competitive among large number of suppliers. Buyers bargaining power: The Apple Company meets the demand of their customers in terms of increase of market by various segments that come from age and income, etc. The other thing is that buyers are highly price sensitive and are free to switch to another retailer. With respect to the company, it is very challenging for the competition of the company such as Apple which has a strong brand image and innovation and strong customer services. Substitutes: The threat of substitute might have two factors and the threat of substitutes can be decreased as much as buyers become loyal to the customers. There is no company that can decrease the ecosystem which has produced by Apple. People buy I Phone for its products for stability and it offers high capability to exchange the information. (Lamido, 2014) 2. Market analysis through a SWOT analysis Apple Company produces different products such as personal computers, networking solutions and software etc. The market position of the company can be measured with strong performance, it also increases the confidence of the investors and the margins of the company can be impacted by high competition. Products benefit from fewer amounts of depreciation and the company increases the skills and capabilities with smaller price increases to vindicate the pricing decisions of Apple. (Pipada, 2014) 5. Integrated Marketing Communication issues Apple is one of the leading companies of the world that has specialized in the sales of various products and services to the clients. For this, it is necessary to adopt the best marketing proposes, through which the clients can be easily reached out. Through this method, the company attempts to regularize the market, and adopt an individual method that would cater the needs of the clients (Johnson and Scholes, 2002). Issues faced by the IMC It is necessary to adapt and implement the right strategies through which the communication process can be improved. For this, the company needs to analyze the preferences of the potential clients based on the information collected; the management has to draft the best strategies through which the changes in the marketing process can be implemented. Also, it is essential to understand the communication technique that needs to be adopted by the management. This is one of the most important factors that would help in accomplishing the task. Apple is well-known for the products that has been manufactured and sold by the company. However the problem arises when the management plans to extend the business activities. In this method, an attempt needs to be made for analyzing the type of marketing strategy that can be adopted by the company. Before discussing the details of the products, it is essential to analyze the market condition. This would help in implementing the strategy that will cater the needs of the company. In this process, it is essential to adopt the best innovative strategy through which the needs of the clients can be handled in the right manner. The method adopted for communication has to be effective, as this will help in reaching out to maximum number of clients at the same time. The challenge exists with the marketing communication style that has been planned to be adopted by the company. It is necessary to develop a term that would enable the company to understand the behavioral stages of the customers. This is quite essential to understand this phase, as the company would be able to draft the best possible policies that would approach the clients. The marketing campaign that has been intended to be communicated with the clients has to be impressive as this will capture the attention of the clients. Apple has been successful in doing so, but the problem arises at the time of selecting the best message through which the customers needs can be tak en care of (Kitchen, 2003). In this process, the below mentioned factors has to be analyzed a. Attention The whole purpose of IMC is to attract the attention of the clients. Thus the message that has been created for the readers has to be noticeable. This will help in attracting the clients, and specifying the features about the same. b. Interest - The message that has been intended to be shared with the clients has to be interesting. Unless this is not dine, the management wouldnt be able increase the sales. The message has to address the needs/preferences of the clients. c. Desire The integrated communication process or method has to be effective, as this will create desire in the minds of the customers. This is one of the most important factors that need to be considered at the time of planning for the advertising concept (Porter, 2001). d. Action - The promotional activities has to be effective enough, as this will help in increasing the sales. In this method, the customers are encouraged to buy the product that is being sold by the company. Some of the issues that ar e faced by the marketing companies at the time of drafting the promotional activities are mentioned below a. Analyzing the quality and quantity of information that needs to be shared with the clients. In this process, it is essential to select the best information that would attract the clients. b. Selecting the best communication method or channel as this will help in reaching out maximum number of clients. c. The message has to be precise as this will help in increasing the sales for the company. d. It is necessary to ensure that the message is not changed during the course. If this happens then it can change the term of the marketing communication that was intended to be discussed with the clients. e. The background and the other factors that would be useful in attracting the attention of the clients. Such factors have to be analyzed, as this will help in attracting the clients attention. This is one of the most important factors through which the sales and goodwill for the compa ny can be increased. In this process, it is essential to ensure that the language and the mode that is selected by the management to communicate with the clients are quite simple and understandable. This would help in improving the sales and client list. The selection of the channel is one of the most important factors, as this will help in retaining the clients. In this method, the selection has to be done after analyzing the objectives of the company (Percy, Rossiter and Elliot, 2002). Conclusion The marketing strategy and its selection play a key role in the development of the company. In this process, it is necessary to select the best methods through which the challenges can be handed. This has to be done so as to ensure that the right strategy is adopted for marketing the product details. The strategy has to be simple and effective as this will help in attracting the clients. The challenges involved in the process have to be analyzed and the corrective steps have to be taken as this will help the company to increase the sales. The Bafa Bafa Game Learning Tolerance Essay Example

The Bafa Bafa Game: Learning Tolerance Essay As humans Interact In groups, we usually conform to our surrounding culture. The Baa Baa game was a simulation of two separate cultures colliding with one another and experiencing the results first hand. All year we talked and read about the impact of culture, but its impact is not really understood until experienced personally. There is a complex series of emotions and communication between the cultures, in which can be examined through Hypotheses 5 dimensions. In this exercise all Individuals were assigned to an Alpha or Beta culture and separated into two rooms. Each group is introduced to a different set of cultural values, and given a card game associated with their culture. After a brief introduction into their cultures, a random select few switch rooms and indulge into their opposite culture. In the Alpha there was an Alpha wolf, which when playing the game would win every time, regardless. In the Beta culture, they were competitive and focused on trading. This gave the Idea of an Individualistic culture, where you are what you earn, and were ranked based on your trades. So when you started in the Beta culture, everybody started at an equal rank at O trades. However, in the Alpha culture, the males were always automatically ranked socially above females. This set a high power distance in the Alpha culture. The alpha culture was centered all around masculinity, and more specifically, the alpha male. He was the set leader. Hereford had the greatest power distance between people. As I was he alpha male, I had quiet a different experience than everyone else. People automatically were somewhat intimidated by my body guards and l. Some people didnt know what to say to me, and others conformed to our Alpha type culture. The Alphas are a high-context culture, making them touchy, as before you talked to anyone, you tapped him or her on the shoulder or gave a hug. This showed how physical closeness Is Important to someone In the Alpha culture. This set an even playing field for all participants. However, one big problem was their language barrier. The Beta culture would only communicate in a series of grunts and noises. Which made their task quiet difficult; their mall objective was to trade as many cards as they could. With America being the melting pot of the world, we need to learn how to communicate effectively and efficiently to our diverse culture. To do this we try to minimize ethnocentrism by also minimizing stereotyping. This exercise is to give us a greater tolerance to understanding of others. Baa Baa was Just an example of 2 very different cultures colliding together. In our world today, we have thousands of cultures living, coexisting on our planet. Showing our cultural differences as a humanity. Everybody wants to be similar in one way or another, but all it takes is a simple perspective change. When put in a diversity program with peers, we realize that we are in this together and face similar challenges.

Free Essays on Analysis Of I Tituba Black Witch Of Salem, The Crucible & Young Goodman Brown Free Essays on Analysis Of I Tituba Black Witch Of Salem, The Crucible & Young Goodman Brown Ever since the beginning of time, the classic conflict of humankind has been the moral struggle between good and evil. Evil can take many forms, but it is always rooted in Satan or the antichrist. The natural assumption has historically been that since God created man/woman in His own image, he/she is inherently good. Therefore, whenever a man or woman takes a detour from the moral straight and narrow, there has to be some type of external cause responsible for the dramatic shifting of course. The logical conclusion to draw was that a spell must have been cast upon the unfortunate person’s soul. In other words, the evil acts were not instinctive; but rather, ‘the Devil made them do it.’ Maryse Condà ©Ã¢â‚¬â„¢s 1992 novel, I, Tituba, Black Witch of Salem; Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1835 short story, â€Å"Young Goodman Brown,† and a 1996 film based on Arthur Miller’s 1953 play, The Crucible, feature the theme of good vs. evil, and consider its repercussions on the respective protagonists and antagonists. Triboluminescence of Wintergreen Lifesaver Candies

Triboluminescence of Wintergreen Lifesaver Candies For several decades people have been playing in the dark with triboluminescence using wintergreen-flavored Lifesavers candy. The idea is to break the hard, donut-shaped candy in the dark. Usually, a person looks in a mirror or peers into a partners mouth while crunching the candy to see the resulting blue sparks. How to Make Candy Spark in the Dark wintergreen hard candies (e.g., Wint-o-Green Lifesaversteeth, hammer, or pliers You can use any of a number of hard candies to see triboluminescence, but the effect works best with wintergreen-flavored candy because wintergreen oil fluorescence enhances the light. Select a hard, white candy, as most clear hard candies do not work well.   To see the effect: Dry your mouth with a paper towel and crunch the candy with your teeth. Use a mirror to see light from your own mouth or else watch someone else chew candy in the dark.Place the candy on a hard surface and smash it with a hammer. You can also crush it beneath a clear plate of plastic.Crush the candy in the jaws of a pair of pliers You can capture the light using a cell phone that works well in low light or a camera on a tripod using a high ISO number. The video is probably easier than capturing a still shot. How Triboluminescence Works Triboluminescence is light produced while striking or rubbing two pieces of a special material together. It is basically light from friction, as the term comes from the Greek tribein, meaning to rub, and the Latin prefix lumin, meaning light. In general, luminescence occurs when energy is input into atoms from heat, friction, electricity, or other sources. The electrons in the atom absorb this energy. When the electrons return to their usual state, the energy is released in the form of light. The spectrum of the light produced from the triboluminescence of sugar (sucrose) is the same as the spectrum of lightning. Lightning originates from a flow of electrons passing through the air, exciting the electrons of nitrogen molecules (the primary component of air), which emit blue light as they release their energy. Triboluminescence of sugar can be thought of as lightning on a very small scale. When a sugar crystal is stressed, the positive and negative charges in the crystal are separated, generating an electric potential. When enough charge has accumulated, the electrons jump across a fracture in the crystal, colliding with exciting electrons in the nitrogen molecules. Most of the light emitted by the nitrogen in the air is ultraviolet, but a small fraction is in the visible region. To most people, the emission appears bluish-white, although some people discern a blue-green color (human color vision in the dark is not very good). The emission from wintergreen candy is much brighter than that of sucrose alone because wintergreen flavor (methyl salicylate) is fluorescent. Methyl salicylate absorbs ultraviolet light in the same spectral region as the lightning emissions generated by the sugar. The methyl salicylate electrons become excited and emit blue light. Much more of the wintergreen emission than the original sugar emission is in the visible region of the spectrum, so wintergreen light seems brighter than sucrose light. Triboluminescence is related to piezoelectricity. Piezoelectric materials generate an electrical voltage from the separation of positive and negative charges when they are squeezed or stretched. Piezoelectric materials generally have an asymmetric (irregular) shape. Sucrose molecules and crystals are asymmetric. An asymmetric molecule changes its ability to hold electrons when squeezed or stretched, thus altering its electric charge distribution. Asymmetric, piezoelectric materials are more likely to be triboluminescent than symmetric substances. However, about a third of known triboluminescent materials are not piezoelectric and some piezoelectric materials are not triboluminescent. Therefore, an additional characteristic must determine triboluminescence. Impurities, disorder, and defects are also common in triboluminescent materials. These irregularities, or localized asymmetries, also allow for an electrical charge to collect. The exact reasons why particular materials show tribol uminescence can be different for different materials, but it is probable that crystal structure and impurities are primary determinants of whether or not a material is triboluminescent. Wint-O-Green Lifesavers arent the only candies that exhibit triboluminescence. Regular sugar cubes will work, as will just about any opaque candy made with sugar (sucrose). Transparent candy or candy made using  artificial sweeteners  will not work. Most adhesive tapes also emit light when they have ripped away. Amblygonite, calcite, feldspar, fluorite, lepidolite, mica, pectolite, quartz, and sphalerite are all minerals known to exhibit triboluminescence when struck, rubbed, or scratched. Triboluminescence varies widely from one mineral sample to another, such that it might be unobservable. Sphalerite and quartz specimens that are translucent rather than transparent, with small fractures throughout the rock, are the most reliable. Ways to See Triboluminescence There are several ways to observe triboluminescence at home. As I have mentioned, if you have wintergreen-flavored Lifesavers handy, get in a very dark room and crush the candy with pliers or a mortar and pestle. Chewing the candy while watching yourself in a mirror will work, but the moisture from saliva will lessen or eliminate the effect. Rubbing two sugar cubes or pieces of quartz or rose quartz in the dark will also work. Scratching quartz with a steel pin may also demonstrate the effect. Also, sticking/unsticking most adhesive tapes will display triboluminescence. Uses of Triboluminescence For the most part, triboluminescence is an interesting effect with few practical applications. However, understanding its mechanisms may help explain other types of luminescence,  including bioluminescence  in bacteria and earthquake lights. Triboluminescent coatings could be used in remote sensing applications to signal mechanical failure. One reference states that research is underway to apply  triboluminescent flashes  to sense automobile crashes and inflate airbags.
